About The Pendulum Vault
Design. Culture. Motion.
The Pendulum Vault is a streetwear and motorsport label built out of Kansas City, Missouri. It comes out of Pendulum Studio — a design practice whose day job is sports architecture, and whose obsessions are the same ones you will find printed on these shirts: cars, craft, local history, and the details most people walk past.
What we make
Two lines, and they are different on purpose.
Pendulum Motorsports is the comic series. Original illustrated panels — a Supra pulling through neon, a boosted CRX, a slammed 300ZX, a Superbird that got banned for working too well. Heavy linework, high contrast, drawn to read across a paddock. Each one is a frame from a story about car culture rather than a photograph of a car.
The Vault is the quieter half. The crest, the wordmark, the waveform. Black on black, geometry instead of illustration, designed to be worn without announcing anything.
Then there is the local work. The Kansas City Grand Prix drop exists because Kansas City had a Grand Prix and almost everyone has forgotten. The Ride Coffee collaboration exists because coffee and cars are the same hobby with different equipment. The Vault Club Jacket exists because we wanted one and nobody was making it the way we would.
How we work
Short runs. Original artwork, drawn in-house, not licensed or generated. Every piece starts as a design problem rather than a product plan — which is why some of them make commercial sense and some of them plainly do not.
We write to our list when there is a drop. Not on a schedule.
